Also known a Anemanthele lessoniana, this New Zealand native forms arching domed clumps of fine-textured semi-evergreen foliage 2 ft. tall by 2 ft. wide The stems start brownish green and turn brighter shades of orange, yellow and red in late summer and autumn, providing colour when many other plants have died back. The flower stems droop gracefully with purple-tinged spikelets. Colours up best in sun but will tolerate light shade. Regular to moderate water.
